Driver charged with DWI after crossing
the yellow line…
DWI CASE EXAMPLE: A police officer stopped a driver after he saw him cross a yellow line by
about the width of a tire. The officer immediately
activated his blue lights and the driver stopped his car. The officer smelled an odor of marijuana and interrogated
the driver about smoking marijuana. The
driver performed the usual “field sobriety tests” prior to his arrest. The driver elected not to provide any
evidence against him at the station; he refused to have his blood drawn at a
local hospital. After the arrest, the driver hired Attorney Stevens to
fight the DWI charges.

the disposition of a recent
RESULT: The case went
to trial. The officer testified about
the driver’s “red, glossy eyes”, his performance on the sidewalk gymnastics and
his “thick tongued speech”. Attorney
Stevens presented testimony of two people who picked up the driver after his
arrest who testified that he appeared normal to them. After trial, Attorney Stevens’ client was found
not guilty on November 20, 2008!!!
